Part-time Lecturer, Anthropology Department

Cameron Walker received her Ph.D. from UC Riverside with a research specialty in Maya studies, particularly issues surrounding the public interpretation and education about archaeological sites and archaeological tourism.  Dr. Walker is Vice President for Societies for the Archaeological Institute of America, the oldest and largest archaeological organization in the world.  She is also the SAA Network Coordinator for California and a member of the Public Education Committee.

Archaeological field experience includes work in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, Minoan Crete, and in California.  Research interests include Maya studies, both archaeological and cultural, the Minoan civilization, the peopling of the New World, and rock art studies.
