  • ANTH301-Primate Behavior:  A popular Natural Sciences elective revealing the intelligence and amazing social behavior of humankind’s closest relatives, apes and monkeys.

  • ANTH305-Anthropology of Religion: Examines the origins and functions of religious beliefs and the supernatural, with an emphasis on traditional societies.

  • ANTH306-Comparative Aesthetics and Symbolism:  Examines the arts of many cultures—including sculpture and carving, painting, ceramics, music, dance, storytelling, and cinema—with a focus on the roles of the arts in traditional societies.

  • ANTH308-Culture and Aging:  An exploration of the course of life among diverse cultures emphasizing the roles of elders and cultural attitudes towards aging and the aged.

  • ANTH344-Human Evolution:  A Natural Science elective examining the evidence for origins of humankind.

  • ANTH442-Medical Anthropology:  A cross-cultural survey of systems of healing and beliefs about curing physical, psychological, and “supernatural” ailments.
