Major Requirements Anthropology, B.A.

All Anthropology majors at Cal State Fullerton take introductory courses in cultural anthropology, biological anthropology, and archaeology, and capstone courses in the history of anthropology and contemporary theory. Working with advisors, students select from a wide variety of courses that provide training in specialized areas, as well as a broad foundation in anthropological theory and method, to prepare them for a a wide range of possible careers in anthropology and related fields.

In addition to the requirements for the major, students must meet all other university requirements for a bachelor’s degree. Please consult the Graduation Requirements for the Bachelor’s Degree section in your current catalog year for complete information. A “C” (2.0) average and a “C-” (1.7) or better is required in all courses applied to the major.

Forensic Anthropology Certificate

The Forensic Anthropology Certificate program provides training and experience in forensic anthropology. Certificate recipients will have demonstrated knowledge and capabilities in identifying human bones and the forensic anthropological techniques used in aging, sexing and identifying specific anomalies due to disease and trauma in human remains.

A “B” or better is required in all courses.
