The Teaching Museum of the Anthropology department is an educational and research resource for anthropology students and the university at large. As a teaching museum, it features exhibits curated, designed, and installed by undergraduate and graduate students as part of Anthropology’s museum studies courses as well as graduate thesis exhibitions. Exhibits in the museum have included artifacts and cultures from California, the Middle East, Mesoamerica, the Southwest, Oceania, and Asia, as well as topics ranging from tattoos to puppets to local and historical communities. The Teaching Museum has worked with local institutions like CSUF’s University Archives and Special Collections, the Local History Archives branch of Fullerton Library, and Heritage House and the Arboretum and Botanical Garden at Cal State Fullerton, as well as with members of various cultural communities. The Teaching Museum is available for student and faculty use, pending availability.
